Effective Discipline
Parents are known as nurturers, protectors, and guides for their children. Some parents make many sacrifices. Most instill morals, values, and discipline. In my opinion, discipline, along with self-determination is a key factor that effects the outcome of a child's success or failure in life. When I am faced with parenthood I intend to instill efficient discipline in my child (ren) by establishing and enforcing rules, regulations and limits for appropriate behavior, without spanking.
I grew up in a large household where spanking was used as a tactic for discipline. From experience I feel it is true to say that spanking makes a child aggressive towards siblings, friends, close relatives and others. Spanking gives the child the impression that hitting or striking others is an acceptable behavior. For this reason I intend to discipline my child with social disapproval and natural and logical consequences to avoid spanking.
