Gattaca
The movie Gattaca take place in the future, here in the United States. In this time, pretty much everyone is a test tube baby. If you were not born as a test tube baby, people looked down on you because you weren't as good as they were (since with test tube babies you can plan what they are going to be like). The main character, Vincent (who later changes his name to Jerome), is not a test tube baby, so he works as a janitor for a company that sends people into space to do research. He really wants to go into space, bur since he is not a test tube baby, he is not allowed. He finds a man that will help him change his identity so that it seems like he is a test tube baby, so then he can apply and work for the company that he's always wanted to work for. This is when he changes his name to Jerome. In a world full of gender, race, and ethnicity, individualism is incredibly important. But what if everyone's personality, skills, and career were already determined at birth?
The movie "Gattaca" very accurately demonstrates the future of America...
