Of all the topics of the day, none is of graver importance than the early history of Christianity. Christianity is the most popular religion in the world today. There are twenty-two thousand Christian churches in the world. Christianity was born along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in the mid-first century C.E.; its birth took place in the early decades of the Roman Empire. Christianity attracted numerous converts throughout the Mediterranean basin. Christianity is a religion founded in Palestine by the followers of Jesus.
