It Happened One Night
The film It Happened One Night was produced in 1934 during the Great Depression. The screwball comedy was made to take the viewers minds off their home situation. Ellie Andrews played by Claudette Colbert and Peter Warner played by Clark Gable were excellent actors. They brought the film to life. Sometime you can have one main character to be the screwball comedian but in this film both characters played screwball comedians. Ellie was a society woman being put in her place by a middle-class man, Peter. Peter would crack jokes on Ellie about her being a spoiled brat due to her high society up bring. Even though Ellie was from a rich family, she begin cracking jokes back on Peter. When they were hitchhiking Ellie watched Peter trying to hitchhike with his different thumb signals, but none would work. Ellie laid on the fence watching and then she made fun of him because all she had to do was pull up her dress in order to stop a passing vehicle, and it worked...
