General Purpose: To inform
Specific Purpose: To inform the students in my class about the golf equipment used in today's fast paced golf environment, it's history, and where this multi-million dollar industry is headed
Introduction: A great man once said "If you watch a game, it's fun. If you play it, it's recreation. If you work at it, it's golf." The great man I speak of is of course Bob Hope, the man responsible for the explosion of golf throughout the United States. Golf is the fastest growing amateur sport in the United States and much of the world. It's the only game that can give a lifetime of joy and frustration at the same time. It's this combination of emotions that give golfers of all ages the addiction to the sport. This addiction leads to a multi-million dollar industry of golf equipment, some are legit tools and equipment designed to improve your game, and others are scams meant to play on the average golfers immense desire to become better. What types of equipment were used in the past, and how does today's equipment hold up against them, and finally where are we headed in the future? We'll examine each question in turn...
