With the Hispanic population growing at such rapid rates as high as 58% during the last decade, it is no surprise Hispanic foods have become a fast growing component of most major U.S. food markets. The U.S. Census Bureau classifies the Hispanic population as the fastest-growing, and now largest, ethnic population.
At more than 35 million in number, it is becoming apparent that the purchasing power and economic might of this group will only continue to increase. As Hispanics tend to spend more money on food eaten at home and more on retail food purchases than non-Hispanic households do, a truly sizeable market is available to food product distributors.
