In the process of human development humans need some type of parenting or a guide to point them towards a certain direction. The duty of a creator is the same as the duty of a parent; the only difference is that one has duty towards a creation and the other towards a child. In Mary Shelleys Frankenstein, Victor is the Creator/Parent while the creature that he creates is the Creation/Child. Victor should have full responsibility for the creature which he has created because he is like a parent to this creature. Humans have certain needs in order to live a normal and happy life. Victor doesnt fulfill his duty as either a creator or a parent because he doesnt supply the creature with social affiliation needs, physiological needs, and self esteem needs.
One needs social affiliation to have friends and to interact with others. Victor did not provide the creature with attention; he abandoned him right after his birth.
