The heart of Israel, beating to the rhythms of four separate peoples, is where Jerusalem stands. This holy metropolis is not only deeply historical and faithfully religious, but is torn between enemies all wanting the city for which the nine lots of beauty (out of ten) were cast upon by God himself. The ongoing struggle of ownership is nothing new. Christians, Jews, Armenians, and Muslims all have both physical property and abstract religious claims to the city. Each lives in a delusional system that believes their faith and their's alone is the One True Path. From the amazing sacred sites from the Temple Mount, to the Dome of the Rock, to the Holy Sepulchre, the centralized ancient walled city, the Vida Rosa, and so on, it is obvious that the past Jerusalem carries on its back is one that reaches far into the depths of ancient times. Modern views and faith have not, however, changed. Today there are arguments over what step belongs to which group, what color of bricks stand for which religion and where certain people can or can't pray. There is nothing holy about this. When religion is bypassed by power, ownership, and greed, the soul of God is turned into a vicious weapon that is used for anything but righteousness...
