"A Good man is hard to find" Is a very ironic story because here you have this old southern lady with her own vies on life, and her family that are annoyed by her. The grandmother in the beginning of the story says alot of ironic things like, I wouldn't take my children to florida wher there is am escape so they can be kille, and then she dresses so that if she does get killed by the side of the road they would know she is a "lady". As the story progress they stop to get something to eat and she tells Sammy the owner that she wouldn't be surprized if the misfit(the escapee) came there to kill them.
Ironically enough as they are driving she wants to see an old site and they end in an accident running in to the misfit. She is now faced with reality that she talked about but thought would not happen.
As she recognizes the Misfit, she does not use wisdom because she blurts off at the mouth about who he is, now he has to kill them all. Prehaps all he wanted was to help them, but now that she recgnizes who he is he has to kill them.
She then tries to use Jesus as her escape. She continually tells him that he is a good man, after in the beginning of the story she and the man in the diner Sammy were talking about there were no good men, not even one. Now her fate lies in a not so good man and she is hoping that he is a good man that would not kill alittle old lady...
