The media today does have objectives and motives that we the public must be aware of. All media is basically trying to sway or persuade us. We should always be aware of the facts, especially when reading newspaper articles; hopefully, we are able to look past political party agenda's, and form opinions based on the facts. The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal in particular write articles from differing perspectives. In one particular article about the President's $ 87 Billion dollar request for aiding the ongoing war the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal presented similar facts from very different view points.
One major differing point between the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times article is the language used by each of the writers. In the New York Times article the language can be easily understood by most, if not all readers. The sentence structure is fairly simple and comes directly to the point. The facts are very obvious, and provide a good basis for the following details. However, in the Wall Street Journal, the language used is wordy and harder to understand mainly because it is geared to economists and political figures...
