Online Journals
Would you ever consider having a personal journal on the internet for whomever to see? With the growing appeal of the Internet, millions of people have, and numerous more are creating accounts or creating their own online journals, sometimes referred to as "weblogs" or "blogs", daily.
If you were to do a web search for online journals, weblogs, or blogs the results would be abundant. Some of the websites are more popular than others, for example, LiveJournal has over 1 million subscribers and of them update their journals on a daily basis. Lesser known blogs are: Diaryland, Blurty, Blogger, Got Diary, My-Journal, and of course the blogs that people create and put on their personal website.
I am one of the many out there with an online journal and it has become a part of my everyday life. Online journaling can be a learning experience in self-discovery and can also be intimidating to others. Journaling never appealed to me until a few years ago, when I discovered I could do it online. The attractions for me to online journals were: the format and ability to customize the appearance of the journal, the ability to type out entries rather than handwrite them, and ease of access. My online journals have been very insightful in getting to know myself and exploring my feelings, which is something I had never done before...
