According to the textbook: Operations Management for Competitive Advantage, Kristen's Cookie Company's motive is to provide fresh cookies to starving students late at night using any combination of ingredients that the buyer wants. This cookie business will start in our own campus apartment. Cookies will be made to order, using any combination of ingredients that the buyer wants, including chocolate chips, M&M's, chopped Heath bars, walnuts, raisins, etc. The cookies will be completely fresh. Buyers will phone in orders to specify the ingredients they want in their cookies, and the cookies will be ready for pickup at our apartment within an hour. Consecutively for this idea to be successful, we would need to evaluate the preliminary design for the production process, such as prices to charge, how many orders to accept, how are we going to take an order. Following the examination of the production process, we will decide if the method for ordering and accepting the cookie order would be via the campus electronic mail system. If we agree using this method, it would also be used to notify customers when their orders are ready for pickup. The next process that we need to analyze is the physical operation activities, such as washing out the mixing bowls and mixing all the ingredients for the next order to come.
