Our identity cannot be formed by what other people think. We are in control over the person we become. It is human nature that others will judge us, but that does not mean they have the power to define who we are. People may form their own opinions by judging an individual, but opinions of others are not powerful enough to define an individual persons opinion of one's character. We define ourselves by what we think of and believe ourselves to be. The way we are perceived by others in society has a direct correlation in how we present ourselves. The power that we hold to create an image of how we want to be seen by our peers is vast.
