Physician Assisted Suicide
There are many opinions in regards to the right to die. The morality of aiding a coherent person in ending their suffering has been debated for many years. Physician assisted suicide has been in our lives for numerous years and has just begun to show itself open for discussion since the early to mid- nineties. The outcome of this issue has a vast range of profound effects on family relationships, doctor - patient relationships, and the effect on medical ethics.
There are very similar terms that relate to physician assisted suicide. The Right to die, this phrase suggests that dying is a matter of choice rather than part of the human condition. Mercy killing is an affirmative act causing painless death of a person who allegedly wishes to die because of a terminal or hopeless medical condition. Euthanasia occurs if a third party performs the last act that intentionally causes a patient's death. Giving a patient a lethal injection or putting a plastic bag over the patients head to suffocate it.
