Title IX-Destructing Athletics, Dreams, and Traditions
Women's rights in our country are very important and play a large part in the success of our country as a whole. With women holding government offices, being presidents of large business, and playing other large prominently male positions is great for the progress of our country. Title IX has played a large role in closing the education gap and sexual discrimination in many institutions.
Title IX was created after the Civil Rights Act in 1964. This has brought about profound changes in education for women and having equal opportunities for the American female. This has made many improvements in American's lives but in the recent years some additions have created problems and arguments in collegiate athletics everywhere. Title IX was created to create equality for both men and women, not to lower men's standards to equal women's rights.
The purpose of Title IX as far as the athletic point of view is to protect against gender-based exclusion. This has created a lot of controversy with athletics at the collegiate level. Title IX requires equal number of programs as men's...
