Masculinity, is a term coined to describe the male "code" or behavior that is deemed natural or "right". Masculinity is a dichotomy with its opposition of femininity. With dichotomies or binary oppositions there is no room for flexibility. When one does contradict the codes of masculinity or femininity, they are not considered normal and even more specific, homosexual. Masculinity and femininity are intertwined with the notions of gender. Along with gender the ideas of Masculinity and femininity are man made constructions. Masculinity and femininity are social concepts that are defined by our society. Therefore, it is these strict rules of masculinity and femininity that shape the socialization of male and females. These different ideas are embraced and supported through different media outlets. However, the media begins to develop and construct ideas that become stereotypes within our society...
