God taught us to love one another and treat others the way we would want to be treated. He also showed us compassion and caring for those in need. One occupation that can be known as, "Angles of Mercy", has declined in the past years. Nursing is an important job to supply quality health care. This nursing shortage is becoming a serious threat in our nation as well as others.
Born in Florence, Italy, on May 12, 1820, Florence Nightingale was raised mostly in Derbyshire, England. Florence Nightingale is the pioneer of nursing and a reformer of hospital sanitation methods. Nightingale's two greatest life achievements--pioneering of nursing and the reform of hospitals--were amazing considering that most Victorian women of her age group did not attend universities or pursue professional careers.
