Purpose: In this lab, we will do experiment with rotation and learn to prove the equations of Rotational Kinematics: s = r, v = r, a = r, f = i + t, f2 = i2 + 2.
Equipment: Tube, Stopwatch, Two-Meter Stick, Vernier Caliper, 500 gram weights, Carbon, Plumbline
Procedure: First, we started off with measuring the basic data of the equipment. Measured the outer diameter of the tube with Vernier Caliper and got the radius of it. Measured the Length of the table (L) using the two-meter stick. Then we raised one side of the table by using the 500 g weights. With the same stick, we measured the height of both higher and lower sides of the table from the top surface of the table to the ground. Then recorded all these data. We then placed the carbon paper and white sheet on the floor at approximate distance to where the tube is going to fall over from the edge of the table, and obtained the stopwatch. We calculated the angle of inclination, , by using sin = (Hhigher C Hlower)/L. We were ready to begin the experiment...
