The Night Thursday October 16th, 2003.
The Place: Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
The Event: Game 7 of the American League Championship Series between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox.
The winner would advance to the World Series of Baseball. I was one of some 56,000 fans in attendance that night, a night which would prove to be one of the most electrifying nights at the stadium. As anyone who's been to a playoff game at Yankee stadium knows, those games are always exciting and nerve racking at the same time. During the First Inning, the adrenaline was definitely flowing in the fans filling the stadium as we all anticipated the next 8 innings and hopefully a Yankee win. Things sadly quieted down in the 2nd when Roger Clemens, gave up 3 runs to Boston and then gave up another run in the 4th inning, giving the Boston Red Sox and Pedro Martinez a 4 run lead. The mood in the stadium was dismal. It was abnormally quiet for a playoff game in the house that Ruth built during the next couple of innings...
