The Call of the Wild, written by Jack London is related to life in many ways. In this book, Buck was taken away from his home in Santa Clara Valley, California and was eventually taken to the Yukon. As Buck’s primodial spark began to shine through, he had the urge to break free, to start his life on his own. Is it something we learned, or is it born into us? Humans and animals alike hear their ‘call of the wild.’ Teenagers hear their calls at different times. People who hear their call early without the knowledge to handle the rebellion, often find themselves with the wrong group, self-distructing. This sometimes leads to drug or alcohol abuse and fighting amongst one another just as Buck fought with Spitz.
