There are many cultures in the world today. According to our text, culture is, "the part of the environment made by humans." A culture may include everything from material objects to beliefs. Cultures vary from place to place all over the world. According to our text, cultures are learned, shared, multifaceted, dynamic, and overlapping. When we say they are learned, that means that they are passed on from one generation to the next. For example, we act the way we do because we are taught to do so by the people who play important roles in our lives. Cultures are also shared, which simply means that we act like the social group that we are in is supposed to act. It is kind of like the "us verses them," and that is how we see it even with in other cultures. When we say that cultures are multifaceted we are saying that they affect everything that we do, whether we realize it or not...
