VANILLA COKE
BEFORE AND AFTER
Coca-Cola since the beginning has had a solid strategy; even with some of the pitfalls Coke has gone through, they have still stayed on top. Coke services six billion consumers in over 200 countries enjoying 300 brands of beverages. (3) Competition has kept them striving to be the best. The rivalry between Coke and Pepsi is especially high because they are both fighting to be America's number one cola. The strategy has been to distinguish themselves above the other.
The position that Coke holds in the market prevents a new beverage from gaining a foothold in local markets and makes it extremely hard for them to gain a presence in the national yet alone global market. (3) Resources, money and variety play a big factor in this, Coke has the financial ability to market new products to the whole world and when a small company shows some type of threat in a market Coke will just buy out the smaller one to improve their foothold in that market. The variety that Coke offers gives loyal consumers other options to switch too, instead of choosing one of their competitors or a small local beverage product.
In the beverage industry power is almighty. Coke, at least within the United States controls the product from beginning to end...
