What makes for a good teacher is anybody's guess and everybody's opinion. After reading several online documents; one by Marie F. Hassett, Ph.D put into words that summed it all up for me:
I would go so far as to say that good teachers, in all settings and
at all levels, have more in common with each other than any of
them may have with their colleagues in comparable positions.(Winter 2000)
Her reasons for this statement are true. Think about two or three of the best teachers you ever had. What were the things they had in common? Was it the way they looked or talked?
What was their classroom setting like? How did they relate to you?..
