When recruiting accounting staff for the auditing department, the process at ABC is different for graduates and experienced candidates. To recruit graduates, the firm uses a massive on-campus recruitment strategy composed of seven distinct steps. The firm disposes of a period of two weeks to go through this process. The first step takes place when the firm contacts the career centers of each university to establish a firm tour schedule. The second step is the visit of the firm done by university groups. ... The third step consists of a cocktail organized by the accounting societies of universities. After all these activities, the firm receives the CACEE forms (appendix 2) and/or referrals of the applicants by a fixed deadline. ... The firm then contacts the selected candidates to make sure they received the offer and to answer any further questions they may have, the acceptation of the offer follows and finally, a verification of the criminal record is done.
On the other hand, the recruitment of experienced candidates, who are candidates that usually have one or two years of experience in another accounting firm, is done at all times. Unlike the recruitment of graduates, there is no deadline or specific recruitment period other then when new employees are needed.
