Comparing Frankenstein and Edward Scissorhands

Upon reading the novel "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley and watching the gothic movie "Edward Scissorhands" it becomes strikingly clear that the two are indeed very similar to each other. The gothic movie "Edward Scissorhands" and the novel "Frankenstein" are very similar in plot as well as both monsters are rejected by society. It is understood that utilizing the novel "Frankenstein" created the idea of "Edward Scissorhands".
Tim Burton, the producer, added a whole new spin too it nonetheless. The quote by
Friedrich Nietzsche "He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into the abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Will be used to answer the following questions, "Who is the real monster?" "Is society responsible for creating the monster?" and "What kinds of things are we taught to fear in monsters?" These questions are also going to be discussed thoroughly, revealing how they all relate to the quote by Nietzsche...
