Feminist theory is extremely broad in scope; focusing, at times, more on asking questions than answering them. This may be attributed to the fact that, as author R.B.J. Walker so bluntly puts it, there is no single feminist perspective. The most base question may be what exactly gender is. Defining gender and its role in a group or a society is a main goal of many feminists. From that, one must wonder how these newly defined roles affect the population as a whole: Why did they evolve as they did? Whom do they serve? In what ways is the state gendered?..
