Daffodils
In this essay I will be comparing the two poems "Daffodils" and "Miracle on St Davids day". "Daffodils" is written by William Wordsworth and "Miracle on St Davids day" is written by Gillian Clarke.
Theses two poems both have a theme of daffodils. The poems are similar in some ways yet in others they are very different. The link between the two poems is that in both poems, daffodils are not seen as the actual flowers. The two poems use metaphors too do this. An example of this is in "Miracle on St Davids day" there is the line "tossing their heads in sprightly dance". This line is portraying the daffodils as people. In "Daffodils" the line "I saw a crowd a host of golden daffodils" also gives the impression of the daffodils being people.
"Miracle on St Davids day" is based on a personal experience of when the author (Gillian Clarke) visited a mental institute...
