What is pluralism ?
Pluralism is a form of government, where one- man tyrannical rule is avoided. Mainly, there is a balance of power between various groups in society, the main being the citizenry and the government. This gives rise to polyarchy, ideologically between elitism and democracy ( though possessing many democratic characteristics.)
How do we approach pluralism ?
There are many ways of studying pluralism.
The normative analysis emphasises how a pluralist society should be, based on social values.
The analytical perspective is based more on how society actually is. This leads to positivism, where statements are backed by factual evidence.
Theories related to the study of pluralism in particular involve concepts such as functionalism, where all social phenomena has a good social consequence...
