According to Bandura's social cognitive approach. " People are seen as active agents who are able to construct cognitive or symbolic representation of events. They are also pictured as being influenced by the environmental events. The process of reciprocal determinism is triadic. It is a process whereby three factors reciprocally influence each other." (Nicolson, D & Ayers, H (1997) Adolescent Problems, London, David Fulton Publishers.) These are the three factors that Bandura's theories are based on, the environment, the acquired behaviour, and the person in terms or their genetic intelligence, motivation, self-efficacy, self-concept and beliefs.
