To the Editor:
I totally disagree with the article entitled "The Great Campus Goof-Off Machine", by Nate Stullman. I do not believe that it is the colleges who create the problem with wasting time on the computer at all. Colleges tell students that they need access to the Internet. No where does it say, "You must bring a computer! If you don't, you will not be accepted or you will fail." Though it is probably best to have a computer in your dorm room for convenience, you could live without it. The problem would come when students wait until the last minute to do things and the library and/or computer labs are closed. As far as surfing the web and just wasting time, that should not be blamed on colleges either.
Students are responsible for their own actions. If you think you are old enough to make your own decisions, you should decide not to fool around and waste time on the computer all day doing things that have nothing to do with your academic success...
