What is bilingualism? This term refers to the ability to speak two languages for the purpose of making an individual undetstood. The two languages referred to are English and Spanish (Marcoux, pg.5. A very long time ago education was not very important but as times have changed so has our society. In today's society a person who does not have an education has very limited opportunities. One of the purposes of bilingual education is to give everyone an education even those who do not speak English fluently. Bilingual education has helped many people and it should not be denied to those who truly need it.
Bilingual education is a program that has been around for many years. I do not see why it has to be denied...
