Chlomo Wiesel was an unforgettable man, a great father, and a loving husband. Being head of the family was a great responsibility to take on. Decisions had to be made to ensure his family's safety and security. Making the decision not to migrate from their home community was a hard but logical decision. My father didn't want to lose contact with family and friends in our little town so he suggested that we stick together as a whole community and face whatever is coming. My suggestion to migrate was quickly forgotten. My father was seen as a leader in our town, "The Jewish community in Sighet held him in the greatest esteem. They often consult him about public matters & even private ones" he was very much a community man as he was a family man.
During the Holocaust, my father encouraged me to survive and keep having faith in oneself. With words like, "You must never lose faith, even when the sword hangs over your head...
