Philosophy is defined as a search for a general understanding of values and reality by chiefly speculative rather than observational means, therefore, when we study the ideas of philosophers, we cannot say what is right and what is wrong. But it is possible for us to compare ideas of the philosophers and to create your own ideas toward life and the world surrounding us.
In the first page, the two aspects of the ideas of Darwinism are presented. Charles Darwin, who was a British Naturalist, discovered that evolution of living organisms do occur and this evolutionary change was a process which was gradual and required thousands and millions of years to take place. Moreover, he discovered that the primary mechanism for evolution was a process called natural selection, and the millions of organisms that are alive today arose from a single original life form through a branching process called specialization. In the first page, Alberto explains to Sophie about the ideas of Darwin that gsmall changes could cause huge geological upheavals, considering the aeons of time that have elapsed.h Although Lyellfs belief that gtiny and gradual changes over the ages could change the face of nature completelyh explained how the land changed its appearance, it was not enough for him to explain why he found the remains of sea creatures high up in the Andes. But then, he assumed that this idea was the same for the evolution of animals and created a theory that living organisms evolved gradually and required a long period of time. Thus, he came up with the arguments on biological evolution from the stratified deposits of fossils in various layers of rock, and the geographic distribution of living species. He found evident that the organisms of the same species differed slightly in the Galapagos Islands...
