Introduction/Summary
Attention-Valley Ranch Home Owners Association, I have included a summary of the existing problems and some general recommendations for the greenbelt area in question. The greenbelt contains numerous trees, but only a few species, honeylocust, white ash, green ash, and hawthorn. Adjacent to the green belt is an agricultural field with a mature row of upright junipers. The trees are planted into the neatly manicured turf, without mulched areas around them. The turf has an automatic irrigation system which runs every two days. All trees are in various stages of decline or ill health. In this case study I will propose how to save the trees, or modify the situation so new replacement trees fare better. I will first give the symptoms of the tree problem, and the a diagnosis of the cause, a life cycle will be provided if applicable, control options will be explored, and cost of the recommended control measures will be discussed.
