Yiddle in the Middle

The movie Yiddle in the Middle is a film about the struggle of Jew living in a non-Jewish town. The film is an autobiography of Marlene Booths life growing up Iowa. Booth kept two concepts in mind during production of the film. One was the inside the home view and the other outside of home. Booth wanted to show the difference between her childhood and her sons childhood.
Growing up in a predominately Christian Iowa town was not easy for Jews. As a Jewish child, Booth found it difficult to be Jewish. She recognizes that before her generation her parents and ancestors faced many different types of injustice and discrimination toward Jewish citizens. Both of Marlenes parents are Jewish and had different roles as Jewish parents.
