"We have drunk the Soma; we have become immortal; we have gone to the light; we have found the gods." Soma is a hallucinogenic drug that Hindu's use as a common practice of worship. Through the "intoxication" the Hindu's believe that Soma makes them immortal, in which helps them to find the gods. Soma is called "the drink of life."
Hindus believe that through soma they are able to talk to the gods and receive many blessings. While in their visits with the gods Hindu's ask for things such as; good heath, protection, mercy, kindness and much more. They believe that soma takes them to the place that stretches out their lifespan, and gives them the "force of life on every side." One of the most common things they ask for is for the gods to bring them riches. They ask for all different kinds of protections such as protection in heath, falling, sleep and speech.
One of the most interesting things that the Hindu's ask for while being immortal is for the gods to have mercy on them, and to have mercy on their well being...
