Effective listener
I would have to say that my listening skills could be either great, or very poor sometimes! People really enjoy talking to me because they say that I'm a great speaker. They say that I'm very mindful of what they have to say and also understanding. I usually give good feedback, and I try to avoid giving advice. On the other hand, sometimes I tend to space out. Someone can be trying to tell me something I may be wandering my mind somewhere else. That's probably my biggest obstacle in effective listening maintaining interest.
I asked a few people who are very close to me about the way that they felt that I listened, and I had some interesting responses. One of my co-workers, which we've, became good friends over the last two years we've worked together, said that I'm very easy to talk to because it seems that I'll always listen to what they're talking about.
