Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter is an almost 11-year-old orphan who lives with his aunt, uncle, and
spoiled cousin, The Dursleys, in Little Whinging, England. He is made to live in a
cupboard under the stairs, wear hand-me-down clothes, and endure hateful treatment from
his family. His life is miserable but normal until his 11th birthday.
Harry receives letter after letter delivered by owls, but his Uncle Vernon will not
allow him to have any of them. Although Harry's uncle takes the family far away from
home, he cannot stop Harry's fate. The very minute Harry turns 11, a huge
grizzly-looking man finds them and tells Harry he is a wizard, and his parents were also.
Harry received a lightning-bolt scar on his forehead the night his parents were killed, and
he defeated the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort. The giant man, named Hagrid, starts Harry
on his journey to the wizarding school, Hogwarts, where Albus Dumbledore is headmaster
and also a very wise and powerful wizard.
Hagrid helps Harry get all the supplies he needs for school including his own magic
wand. Hagrid gives Harry a snow-white owl named Hedwig...
