According to the First Amendment, Americans are entitled to have the freedom of speech. This particular amendment is the most important and most valued. Along with the right to free speech is censorship. In the music industry, censorship is heavily used in order to protect American values from the profane language of others. But at the same time, this censorship restricts people from their right to freedom of speech. Is the First Amendment being contradicted? Music censorship ignores the First Amendment that is given to Americans, and teaches us to remove the thoughts in which musical artist are expressing in their lyrics.
Shouldn't musical artists have the right to verbally express themselves without the interruptions of censorship? What about the people who have children or those who do not wish to hear these profane lyrics? The solution definitely is not censorship...
