In the 20th century, technology developed quickly. For example, the steam engine was invented, electricity was widely used and the Wright brothers made the first successful motorized flight. Of all the technological advances, the Titanic represented the pinnacle of ship manufacturing in that century. Its equipment and power were the most magnificent ever. Even the third-class cabins were more luxurious than the first-class cabins on some lesser steamships of the same era. Therefore, the Titanics maiden voyage lured the very best of people.
