Leonardo da Vinci vs. Tintoretto
"The Last Supper" is a two dimensional flat painting that is done by many different artists including Leonardo da Vinci and Tintoretto. The titles are the same but their works of art are quite different. These two artists express their version of "The Last Supper" by using many unique visual elements. Leonardo's painting allows you to view the table in "The Last Supper" from a more frontal view, whereas Tintoretto's painting gives a side view. Lighter shadings and colors are used in Leonardo's painting unlike Tintoretto's who uses chiaroscuro. Tintoretto's painting gave a more emotional point of view with the dark shading, body language, the angels hovering over them and the cluster of people around Jesus. Leonardo's painting was more organized in the fact that the people at the table appeared that they all had a position at the table and around Jesus, instead of in Tintoretto's painting where people were just everywhere. Atmospheric prospective is viewed at the back of Leonardo's work where u can find a window revealing the outside world. Tintoretto's work presents a scale change as you look towards the back of the painting the people and images get smaller...
