Are labor unions all that they are said to be? Do they help the everyday man in the work force to receive help from people who are in a higher position than they are? What is a labor union? A labor union is quoted from the dictionary to be: "An organization of wage earners formed for the purpose of serving the members' interests with respect to wages and working conditions."
By this definition of labor union, it would seem that these labor unions were introduced to help the everyday, common working man and/or woman. However, by taking an in-depth look, and by taking the time to research labor unions, these unions can be just as much of a hurt, as they seem to be a help. Often these unions are much more of a hurt to the society than they are a help to the society.
This paper explains that the labor union represents an attempt on the part of the "lower" working class through organization and cooperation; to dominate the "upper" industrialist or ruling class.
