Misconceptions of Shakespeares "Hamlet"

In William Shakespeares tragedy Hamlet, its commonly thought that the protagonist, Hamlet, is mad, or as we would say presently, mentally ill. ... Hamlet seeing an apparition of his recently deceased father does not help his situation either. However its not whether or not hamlet is mad, but why hes pretending to be and what he plans to do. Hamlet is not mad, contrary to the belief of many, but is merely struggling to live in society, and struggling to grow up.
