The Effects of Televised Violence
""Television is the most obvious, ubiquitous and potent source of information available to children growing up in the United States," said Leonard D. Eron, a psychology professor and research scientist at the University of Michigan. "Children are not only being entertained, but educated by television."" Most Americas seem to agree with researchers that there is too much violence on TV. A telephone survey, which used random-digit dialing, found that "Among the 1,101 cable and satellite subscribers who responded to the survey, 81 percent said there is too much violence on TV, while 73 percent found excessive foul language and 75 percent believed that too much sex is shown...
