The Future of Management
Things are changing so fast in today's business environment that many companies are finding it hard to keep up. In the future, change will come even faster than it does today and unless management learns to adapt, many companies will not survive. Management must learn to revisit their mission every few years, refining it as the needs of the customer change. They must ensure that every employee knows and understands the company's mission. Management must develop a strategic plan that envisions the desired future of the organization. They must allocate the needed resources and ensure there are the needed resources in the future to accomplish their mission. Management must also empower their employees with the knowledge and training so that they may do a better job. They must also develop programs that will ensure employee loyalty and reduce employee turnover.
Management must learn to recognize when current policies and practices are no longer viable and will have no effect on the future. Many managers might find change hard to accept, but the growth in products and services, technology, and market share are vital for the company and its employees to keep up...
