Opening statement
Good afternoon ladies and gentleman of the jury. If it so pleases the court, I'd like to take the opportunity to introduce myself and my co-counsel.
Thank You. I am Defense co-counsel Brennan King
RYAN K: And I am Co-counsel Ryan Konecni, for the Defense.
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, please allow me to state right up front, that it is not the responsibility of the Defense to prove the innocence of my client but it is, in fact, the burden of the prosecution to prove the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
(Pause)
To aid in this motion, the defense will call the following witnesses to the stand: Jamie Sung, KC Cline, River Lenox, and the defendant, Madison Casco.
The first witness that the defense will call is Jamie Sung. We will, by the sworn testimony given by the witness, link Devon Wilshire to the receiving of stolen property as, packages in the mail.
