  John Grisham had no idea that one day he would become a famous author and seller of award winning novels that turned into blockbuster hit movies. Very few authors have had movies based on their novels, but this author has had six successful films produced from his novels. John Grisham is a superstar novelist who bases all his books on law and criminal justice.
  John Ray Grisham Jr. was born on February 8, 1955, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was the second oldest of five children. John grew up with strict Southern Baptist parents. His mother was a homemaker, and his father was a construction worker. Although they were poor, the children seemed not to know it because as Grisham says, he and his brothers and sisters "were well fed and loved and scrubbed" (Pringle 1).
