Purpose of the Course:
The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with many forms of literature, expand vocabulary, dictionary skills, and spelling skills. The students should improve their writing by applying proper capitalization, punctuation, sentence structure, and handwriting skills.
Course Prerequisites:
There are no prerequisites for the course.
Course and Unit Objectives:
The student should learn to differentiate between fiction and non-fiction and be familiar with some forms of poetry. He/She should improve his/her writing skills by applying proper capitalization and punctuation rules. He/She should proof-read his/her own work and make corrections. Spelling of basic words should improve. Opportunities to present work to the class will help strengthen self-esteem and build public speaking skills...
