I've always wondered where the phrase Stella came from. I really enjoyed this film, but I wasn't impressed with all the acting, which the film was supposed to highlight. My favorite character was Stanley and not just because he screamed Stella. I think Marlon Brando is a wonderful actor. He was very funny throughout the film and I really felt Stella was harsh with him at the end of the film. I think it was his responsibility to tell his friend the truth about Blanche. I don't know what he did to her that night when Stella was having the baby, but she was crazy and needed help. I was very impressed with his acting in this film. I was not impressed with Vivien Leigh in her role as Blanche. I felt at times she was overacting and it was really annoying...
