In origin, Krisna, like Rama, was likely a deified hero of the Kshatriya caste. However, this paper will focus more so on his life and origins in accordance to Hindu beliefs. Krisna was born in Mathura, along the Yamuna river in northern India (Garza, 1). His father, Vasudeva, and his mother, Devaki, were members of the Yadava tribe.
